SHERIFFS.

The information given in t.able 60 deals with the duties performed
by the sheriffs. The figures for 1926, show that sales of real estate
realized $1,421,768. The fees for the same year amounted to $178,679
and expenses reached $46,090.

The number of documents registered in 1926, as required by law,
shows a total of 127,990. Among the most important, mention must be
made of the transfers of property which reached 47,615, mortgages,
18,979 and marriage contracts 5,389, The fees recei veel in 1926,
amounted to $597,659 and the expenditure ta $121,804.
