DIPLOMAS.

The Central Board of Catholic Examiners was created in 1898 to re-
place che various smaJl boards then in existence. lts object is to examine
Catholics who intend to devote themselves to lieaching. A separate board
exists for Protestants. On the same day and at the ~ame hour) delegatea
from the Central Board examine candidates in the different localities of
the Province. The ms,jor part of the tests is written and the papers
are corrected by the Central Board.
