- according to the opinion of several organists and a piano and organ
tuner..".
On June 17 the Church Wardens proposed: "...that the Parish accept
the offer of Port Daniel Parish to exchange the three Altars of the
Port Daniel Church for those of the Saint Jules Church...".
1957 On September 1 it was proposed and accepted Wlanimously
that:
1. A collection be taken to erect a monument for the late
Father James leBLANC, this collection would be added to
the contribution of the family, and the balance of the cost
would be paid by the Parish of Saint Jules.
2. That the salary ofthe organist be $JO.OO a month, funeral
services and marriages not included.
3. That the attic of the Presbytery be insulated with a few
truckloads ofplaner shavings mixed with lime.
4. That the seats in the Church be sold for $12.00 per year.
5. That the salary of the Beadle be $25.00 per month.
1961 A strip of land was sold to the "ministere de la Voirie du
Quebec" at New Carlisle, QC for the sum of $1200.00 in preparation
for the widening of the road.
1982 On May 13 the Church Wardens decided to enlarge the
second Cemetery (situated on lot 9C in the Ist Range, and entered on
the cadastre of the Municipality of Saint Jules in 1984 as lot number
9C36) to 295 feet (89.91 meters) in depth by 295 feet (89.91 meters)
in width. This Cemetery opened in 1927 had already been enlarged
in 1944.
1995 On July 8 the Church Wardens decided to close the first
Cemetery of Saint Jules Parish due to the advanced stage of
deterioration of the headstones.
