PRIMARY ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS.
The primary elementary school is composed of three reg;ular courses
of two years, viz: inferior, intermediate and superior. A preparatory
'section for children who have not yet attended school prepares them for
the elementary course. In the preparatory section and in the elementary
grade. teaching is pUl'ely oral. In 1925, there were 7,212 elementary
schools with a male and female teaching staff of 12,067. The number of
pupils enrolled at that date was 365,139.
