                                 Newspaper Obituary

Religious newspapers (this was a Wesleyan Methodist
publication) often provide detailed information about the
faithful deceased, perhaps more so than local commercial
papers for "the common person." Mary McArthur7s life is
outlined with her age, place of birth, year of marriage, name
of spouse, year of religious conversion and precise date and
place of death. Her parents' names and their residence are
included. One often sees these tributes to the faithful that
add so much to a family history. This is wonderful
information for a descendant, but is to be treated as
                                 secondary.
