of evidence. Remember, learning the form is reinforced by
familiarity.
A family history of any length, or prepared for any
purpose, or any other kind of written family project,
deserves a place in an appropriate society library or public
library. We also highly recommend obtaining an Inter-
national Standard Book Number OSBN) from the Library
of Canada and depositing two copies there for posterity
(www.nlc-bnc.ca).
Risking repetition here, genealogy and family history are
legitimate fields of study that have grown to stand alone.
We are on the threshold of acquiring the serious
acknowledgement we deserve from scholars in other studies.
By continuing our self-education and publishing our results,
we are adding to the scholarly literature and increasing public
awareness of the immense value of our field.
