5.  The Chevron.  The chevron, as
                                                                its name implies, is  a  segment  con-
                                                                tained  by  two  paralle1  lines  drawn
                                                                ter base meeting in the centre of  the
                                                                shield  with  the  point  uppermost.
                                                                Two chevrons  rnay  be  used  on  one
                                                                shield  but  i€ more  are  required  the
                                                                diminutive  is used.
                                             Bend
                                 (a)  Bendlets. When  there are two
                               or more sections similar to the bend
                               but of  half  its width  or less accord-
                               ing  to the  number  used.
                                                                             Chevron
                                                                  (a)  Chevronel.  Three  or  more
                                                                chevrons  of  a  width  suitable  to
                                                                divide  up  the  field  and  allow  the
                                                                 field  to be  seen  between them.
                                           Bendlets
                                                                  (b)  Chevronels  interlaced. In this
                                                                case  the  chevronels, generally  three
