from Indiana. At the Columbia River a post was eatablished and called
~storia. he incidences of this enterprise is the subject of
Washington Irving's book Astoria. Charles returned from the Pacific
coast in 1816 passed thro-chigan to Canada. He aett with his
fdly in 1830 on a farm at Grosae Ile
