Mathurine Robin, Francois Belanper was recruited in Mortagne, France
by Robert Giffard Seigneur of Beauport to cultivate his fief on the
north side of the St Lawrence River, east of Quebec. He departed from
Dieppe on Captain de Nesle'e vessel in 1634 arriving in North America 4
Jut. 1634. abouut 1654 he obtained land at L'Ange Gardien which has
since passed continuously from father to son and still remains in the
Belmger family. Francoia became a captain in the Militia and as an
officer was granted the fief of Bonsecours, south of the River, three
miles wide by six miles deep
